GuangzhouChina April 21, 2011-In the latest issue of CCM's monthly newsletter- Insecticides China News April 2011, experts from CCM pointed out that a heated fight in rice insecticide market has started after the 2011 Spring Festival because there are too many new insecticides in the market with low-toxicity and environment protection at present. What's more, total stricken area of diseases and insect pests on wheat hit 7.6 million hectares in March 2011. The prices of those imported insecticides are comparatively stable while prices of domestic insecticides fluctuate with many factors. The newsletter also shows that 541 insecticides in total were registered in 2010, with a year on year decline of 60.0%.
It is also predicted that M&A will be a major trend of China's pesticide industry in the coming five years to better develop pesticide industry in China. With greater competition, more and more new insecticides are discovered to squeeze the market.
The newsletter shows that as a recommended substitute for highly toxic insecticides, acephate will have a good market prospect. Acephate is an organophosphate foliar insecticide of moderate persistence with residual systemic activity of about 10-15 days at the recommended use rate. It is used primarily for control of aphids, including resistant species, in vegetables and in horticulture like on roses and greenhouse ornamentals. It also controls leaf miners, caterpillars, sawflies and thrips in turf, and forestry.
Other insecticides like veratrine and imidaclothiz will also enjoy a good market in 2011. Veratrine, like most botanical insecticides, which are naturally extracted from plants, is surely to have a growth potential in 2011.
Abamectin is used to control insect and mite pests of a range of agronomic, fruit, vegetable and ornamental crops, and it is used by homeowners for control of fire ants. Market price of abamectin technical is predicted to increase in Q2 2011.
